Amazon packaged this in a box over twice the length of the keyboard without any packing and it came damaged as a result. Additionally, the placement of the macro keys is not ideal. They are in a vertical column on the far left of the keyboard, which means that I often hit the G1 key when I mean to hit ESC and G6 when I mean to hit CTRL, etc… Macro keys should definitely be above the F-keys. Furthermore, the wireless receiver often malfunctions and needs to be unplugged and plugged back in again before my keyboard will connect again. Then there are the obnoxiously loud media keys that make an obnoxious double click sound ever time they are pressed. The mechanical switches themselves feel fine. Similar to the cherry mx brown switches I am accustomed to. However, due to the design, it is impossible to add dampeners to reduce the noise level like you can with cherry mx switches.

Others have mentioned they weren’t 100% happy with the keyboard out the box, and I can relate to that. For me, It felt much cheaper than the price tag was set for. It feels like economy to mid level materials were used and the base price is right at the premium point. The feature set is solid and its aesthetics look good, but the tactile feel leaves a little to be desired, as do the materials used. If I’m honest, it feels like a keyboard off of a 30 year old budget Compaq PC. The keys have a decent travel, but a less than stellar detent. The engagement of the key just feels a little lifeless, and even with that lifeless detent it still makes a more noise than you would think. The keyboard is like Jekyll and Hyde, so close to being great, but dangerously close to being bad. It fits my hands well and it’s function is good, but to market it as a mechanical keyboard truly just seems like a misrepresentation. I do recommend it to people when the price is right, but I warn them to temper their expectations.Features: 4/5 – Solid feature set, but could use backlightingFeel: 3/5 – Honestly, it feels fine but its just a little lifelessFit and Finish: 3/5 – Fit is great, but the materials feel a little “bottom rung” for the price.Looks: 4/5 – I like the looks, but would have preferred all black.Price: 3/5 – This is a good buy at $50-60, but the list price of $125 is silly for what your getting. At the going price of $75 it still feels a little overpriced but closer to expectations.

I recently switched over to this keyboard after the solar-powered Logitech I was using began to give out after 4+ years of use. If you’re coming from a compact-style keyboard, this one will take some adjusting to; I keep hitting the row of G keys along the outer edge instead of ESC or tab, as I’m used to going all the way to the edge of the board.Still, out of the box this seems like a nice, no-frills wireless mechanical keyboard. Setup was as easy as plugging in the wireless receiver (a bit irked that it isn’t a unifying receiver like my last keyboard and won’t pair my mouse as well, but as it’s going into a tower, I have enough free USB slots). Sensitivity seems just right, and despite the depth of the keys it’s actually a bit easy to hit extra buttons with the edge of your finger. As for the keys themselves, I know a few reviewers have complained that Logitech uses proprietary mechanical switches but they’re still quite responsive. However, as others have also mentioned, other than the clacking, there’s a very distinctive hollow metal “clanging” noise when typing, most noticeably from the space bar. Obviously this isn’t a deal-breaker but it’s something to be aware of.Even though this was purchased refurbished it was indistinguishable from a new keyboard. If you’re in the market for a barebones mechanical keyboard without LEDs I’d say go for it, just be aware that the palm rest isn’t detachable.
